Who Founded Impact and When?
The founders of the platform are Todd Crawford, Per Pettersen, Roger Kjensrud, and Wade Crang, who started the company Impact Radius in 2008, which later became known as Impact.
Impact platform headquarters is in Santa Barbara, California.
The platform has evolved from traditional coupon, loyalty, and blog affiliates to include social media, influencers, content creators, business development partners, and even paid media partners.

Registration On Impact
When you visit the Impact website, the first question you’ll be asked is whether you are a company (brand) wanting to advertise or a partner.
You will choose partner because you will be advertising companies for a certain fee.
Confirmation will take you further to a screen where you see who can sign up as a partner.
You will register via email (Sign up with email), but you can also choose one of the existing accounts on Apple, Facebook, Google, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
If you choose email registration, you will enter your first name, last name, username, email address, password, and phone number in order.
The username will be visible to your future partners.
Before entering the phone number, you must select the country you come from so that the data is correct.
Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication
To proceed, choose one of two verification methods.
This can be verification by email or phone number.
We chose the phone number and received a message with a code in a second.
You can change this option later.
It is important to note that the received code is valid for only 10 minutes, and you must enter it within that time.
Every time you log in, you will need to enter the code.
Since your profile will contain your earnings, this procedure is necessary.
Defining Business Model
Here you mark your business model, i.e., how you will advertise the companies with which you will sign a partnership agreement.
There are almost all options from creating reviews, giving coupons and discounts, content creators, rewards, and similar.
Promotion Method
Under the advertising method, you will mark everything you own, from websites, social network groups, mobile apps, YouTube channels, including podcasts, email, or some other way.
Here, depending on the chosen method, you will need to enter the URL, i.e., the address that leads to your property.
For example, if you have a website, you can verify it through Google Analytics, and no additional verification will be required.
You can enter the website manually by entering the domain on which it is located (Add Website manually).
For manual entry, you need to download the code and embed it in the website header to confirm ownership.
Additional Information
Before entering additional information, you must determine whether you are a person or a company and then enter additional information.
The account display name is the name that will be visible to your future partners.
After that, typically, select your country, write the address, city, zip code, and determine the time zone and currency.
Under additional information, you will need to enter or define a few more details.
Personal information
You can include personal information if you are an influencer or individual.
This way, companies will know more about you to have an insight into who they will be working with.
Shipping address
If you include the shipping address option, you will need to write a specific address for delivery or determine that it be the same as the one you registered with.
What is it for?
It is possible that some companies will send you their product to describe it on your blog or make a video about what the product looks like and how functional it is.
It is also possible to receive a product as a reward for your effort and dedication.
Additional Information
If you include additional information, you will enter your active social media profiles.
Media kit
Under the Media kit, you can upload a PDF containing your images, icons, and graphics used for your brand.
Payment Information
If you have done everything correctly, this will bring you to this screen.
The first thing you will see is the tax information.
Here you must enter your tax number if you have one or specify that you are not registered for indirect tax.
This leads us to the end of the Impact platform registration.
In a day or two, you will receive information on whether you have been accepted or not.
Note:
Almost everyone we know who applied to this platform was accepted.
There is no need to enter or hide data or enter false information.
Acceptance of Partnership
Under the option Discover>Brands, a list of companies that want you to advertise them will appear.
By pressing Categories, you can select the category you are interested in to see those that interest you.
After selecting the company you want to advertise, all you need to do is press the Apply button.
Here we must note that there are two types of application.
One is for companies you can work with immediately, and for some, you will receive an email notification whether you have been accepted or not.
If you are accepted immediately, a panel will appear where you create the link.
Somewhere, you will also be able to enter the name of the site where you plan to place the link (URL), so you can see in the analytics from which place the person came (in case you advertise multiple companies).

Analytics
When we select Reports>Overview, the results of all past activities for all companies we work with will be displayed.

We have been on this platform for a few years but had to open a new profile with a new currency as we did not update the old one.
Payment Method
We define the payment method under Finance>Bank Account.
We currently have two payment methods:
- Electronic funds transfer
- PayPal
For the first option, you will need to enter your bank card details, and for PayPal payment, provide the email address you use for PayPal.
If you change the payment method, it will take 48 hours for the change to be recorded. This is a form of protection.
Electronic Tax Form
Payment will not be allowed until you complete the Electronic Tax Documents.
If you are a U.S. citizen, then W9; if not, one of the remaining W8 BEN or W8 BEN-E.
Filling it out is simple, with your address and tax number, ending with an electronic signature.
Earnings Display
On your profile, it will always show under Balance how much you have earned.
If some funds are still being processed, you will see them under Pending.
This can happen if someone bought something through your recommendation, but it is taken into account that the product can be returned within a month.
