Introduction
How to Connect Printify to Etsy?
This guide will walk you through all the necessary steps, and we’ll also cover key tips for a successful business.
In the world of e-commerce, platforms like Printify and Etsy allow entrepreneurs to easily launch and run an online store with print-on-demand (POD) products.
For anyone looking to use Printify as a manufacturing partner and Etsy as a marketplace for sales, merging these platforms can bring numerous benefits such as easier order management and process automation.
Why integrate Printify and Etsy?
The Printify and Etsy integration allows you to:
- Automated order processing – when a customer orders a product on Etsy, the order automatically goes to Printify.
- Easy inventory management – Printify updates stock and pricing information directly on the Etsy platform.
- Faster delivery and better order tracking – delivery is more efficient thanks to Printify’s partner network of manufacturers.
Steps to connect Printify to Etsy
Follow the steps in the Printify interface to connect to Etsy:
Log in to your Printify account.
In the top left corner, select the “Manage My Stores” option and click “ Add a new store .”
Here are more web store options that can be found today:
Etsy, Shopify, TikTok, Amazon, Squarespace, Wix, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, PrestaShop.
Among the options, find Etsy.
Printify will redirect you to Etsy where you will need to confirm access authorization.
Once you grant access, Printify and Etsy will be connected and ready to go.
Product management
Once you’ve connected Etsy and Printify, you can add products to your Etsy shop from the Printify catalog.
Product Manufacturing
Let’s choose one of the Printify products.
We chose a mug to illustrate the process.
Manufacturer selection
We chose the company that will print the mug based on the country, i.e. the address of our store.
For EU countries the above option will be acceptable. The production cost will be 9.4 USD and the shipping cost 5.7 USD.
If you mistakenly specify the manufacturer below, the production will be cheaper, but the shipping fee to EU countries will be a high- 15.99 USD.
Of course, if you apply to Printify as a US citizen, then your shipping prices will be different.
The American Manufacturer will have a lower shipping cost.
Product Preparation
As soon as you have selected a manufacturer, the product editing panel will open.
You can upload the image you want on the mug using “Upload” or if you have previously uploaded it, find it under the “My Library” option.
Once you have uploaded the image to the object, you need to resize it so that it does not go outside the dotted lines.
We uploaded the image twice so that it could be seen from both the inside and the outside.
The bottom side of the panel shows a graphic representation of where the image is located on the cup.
If desired, you can also place just one image that will be visible only in the middle of the cup.
3D view
The editing panel also includes a 3D preview at the bottom, which allows you to see the finished product.
You can rotate this 3D Preview.
Classic view
On the right side of the panel, the product will be displayed in several different positions, including an angled view and a contextual view (e.g., on a table or other surface).
We recommend that you select the (Realistic CMYK) option in the options as it will display the color shade on the finished product.
When you are satisfied with the appearance, you must save the product.
Product finish
After saving the product, you will need to specify the images you want to accompany it.
Mockups are ready-made images that will display your product.
You can choose one or more of them as desired.
For such a simple subject, no more pictures are needed.
Since we connected Printify to the Etsy web store, the rule is that there can be a maximum of 10 different images per product.
Listing details
Under the Listing details option, enter the product title, product description, and tags.
We can leave the description as it is now and change it later on Etsy.
But since we have the Generate with AI option here, it’s better to let artificial intelligence write this for us.
Generate with AI
You must enter which product you want a description for and what the image represents.
Everything else will be done by AI that is specifically tailored to the product description.
If you are satisfied with the description, click
Apply to the listing.
Product Publishing
The product price will be automatically generated and increased by the amount you defined when creating your Printify profile.
The commission you pay when selling on your Etsy shop will also be included.
All data including title, description, and tags will be uploaded to Etsy.
These options can be enabled as needed under the Sync product details option.
If all options are selected, the complete product will appear on the Etsy shop with images, product title, description, sizes, and tags.
The SKU number you set on your web stores will be automatically generated.
We publish the product by clicking Publish.
Finished product
The finished product will be visible on Etsy within ten minutes.
Any changes you make on the Printify platform will also be visible on the Etsy web store.
